Coal production at Listvyazhnaya mine of SDS-Ugol suspended
BARNAUL, Aug 10 (PRIME) – Coal production at the Listvyazhnaya mine of Russian coal company SDS-Ugol has been suspended over disruptions in operations of the system of aerogas control, Andrei Vil, an official representative of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Oversight, said on Thursday.
“In the period from August 3 through August 9, the Siberian department of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Oversight had registered 9 protocols of temporary suspension of operations … on coal production from coal wall 824 of the Listvyazhnaya mine on August 9 because of disruptions in the work of the system of aerogas control. As of the moment, the service has suspended the mine’s work,” Vil said in his Telegram channel.
In November 2021, a methane blast in the mine killed 51 people making the accident one of the deadliest tragedies in the entire history of the Russian coal industry. More than 20 criminal cases were launched in the aftermath. The mine restarted works in July 2023.
